Remember Corinth the city was known far and wide for behavior involving sex, drugs, and alcohol. Prostitution and drunkenness were rampant. So, Paul writes, “And working together with Him, we also urge you not to receive the grace of God in vain—” (2 Corinthians 6:1). *Read Romans 6 along these lines for a similar thought.

Follower of Jesus, have you received the grace of God in vain? Paul goes on to identify the characteristics of a servant of the Lord and then challenges the church of Corinth, AND US TODAY, walk accordingly. He reminds us we do so because of the grace of God. Paul reminds us how the Lord sees us as he concludes this chapter, “And I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to Me,” Says the Lord Almighty.” 2 Corinthians 6:18

We love Him (Jesus) because He first loved us. So, let’s not receive His grace in vain but allow the love and justness of the Father to propel us in the likeness of Him more each day.
