Jesus said, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy…”

Earlier in the church in Corinth they were dealing with one in the church blatantly in sin. Paul told them, “I have decided to deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of his flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.”1 Corinthians 5:5

Evidently, this man repents so the church is instructed, “…on the contrary you should rather forgive and comfort him… wherefore I urge you to reaffirm your love for him… so that no advantage would be taken of us by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his schemes.” 2 Corinthians 2:7-11 partial

Do you realize there is an enemy of your soul? Satan wants to destroy you as an individual AND he wants to destroy the church and our representation of Christ. This is his scheme. Do not be ignorant of this. Be aware Satan “only comes to steal, kill, and destroy”. Jesus continues that statement by saying, “…I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10).   Don’t give the enemy of your soul a foothold in your life. Pray with me and respond to what the Lord brings to light in your life, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you and lead me along the path of everlasting life.” Psalms 139:23-24

When we see death, darkness, and destruction it is always Satan’s schemes. When we see life, light, and liberty it is always the Lord. You and the church thrive in the Lord and His plans. Seek life, light, and Liberty. Seek Jesus!
