To dwell… we dwell on a lot of things. We dwell in habits or mindsets. But what about the Lord dwelling?!

In Exodus we read the instructions given to Israel for the tabernacle. Do you know what tabernacle means in Hebrew? Dwelling, habitation, to dwell… the first thing God did as the people were released from bondage was to setup a dwelling in the midst of their camp. The Lord desired and desires to dwell among His people.

Now we read of the temple as a dwelling place for the Lord with His people. Notice, what He says about Himself, “Then the Lord appeared to Solomon by night, and said to him: “I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice.” (2 Chronicles 7:12). “Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place.” (2 Chronicles 7:15). “For now I have chosen and sanctified this house, that My name may be there forever; and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually.” 2 Chronicles 7:16

Where the Spirit of God dwells there is life, and life forevermore. Do you know what the power of Jesus did on the cross? For those who put their faith in Jesus atoning sacrifice we are made clean and pure so the Holy Spirit can commune inside of our souls. Paul writes, “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” 1 Corinthians 3:16

The Father hears our prayers… He is attentive to our prayers… He has chosen and sanctified us in Christ Jesus… His name is written on our lives, His eyes are perpetually upon us, and His heart is faithfully for us. He desires to dwell with us and in us. There is nothing greater than His presence. Today, set your heart and eyes upon Him!
