Are you picturing this, getting an image of what Solomon is doing here?

“Then Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in the presence of all the assembly of Israel, and spread out his hands (for Solomon had made a bronze platform five cubits long, five cubits wide, and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court; and he stood on it, knelt down on his knees before all the assembly of Israel, and spread out his hands toward heaven)” 2 Chronicles 6:12-13

Solomon spread out and on his knees before the people to pray to the Lord:

v14-15 - He praises the Lord.

v21 - He prays for the Lord to hear Israel.

v22 - He prays for those who practice sin.

v24 - He prays for those in defeat.

v26 - He prays for the afflicted.

v29 - He prays for the burdened.

v32 - He prays for foreigners and strangers.

v34 - He prays for protection.

v36 - He prays for the wicked.

And he finishes with, “Now, my God, I pray, let Your eyes be open and let Your ears be attentive to the prayer made in this place.” 2 Chronicles 6:40

The world is in a dark place and people are doing dark things. We each need prayer. The church needs prayer. Our families need prayer. I’m convicted. I need to pray more. For my family, friends, those living in darkness and unbelief. So, let’s follow Solomon’s example and lay ourselves before the Lord and pray!
