We’ve come a long way through history. This book started at the height of the Davidic reign being passed to Solomon, his son. Now, we are generations removed from a kingdom built by God in all its splendor to Israel falling into captivity.

Just years early it was said of Josiah’s reign, “No Passover like it had been kept in Israel since the days of Samuel the prophet. None of the kings of Israel had kept such a Passover as was kept by Josiah, and the priests and the Levites, and all Judah and Israel who were present, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.” 2 Chronicles 35:18

Now… “The Lord, the God of their fathers, sent persistently to them by his messengers, because he had compassion on his people and on his dwelling place. But they kept mocking the messengers of God, despising his words and scoffing at his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord rose against his people, until there was no remedy.” 2 Chronicles 36:15-16

The same can be said of our today. The Lord has sent messengers and continues to send them persistently because of His compassion towards the world and the church. Mockery and scoffing of prophetic voices still happen today. Pray… hearts will turn to the Lord. Pray… the church will be purified. Pray… hearts will be softened and turn towards the Lord and His kingdom.

Father, forgive my sin. Forgive the times where I don’t take seriously Your Word and Your Messengers. Help us to hear Your voice. Help us to be faithful to follow You. I’m sorry Father… I love You! Help… help us… we cry out for our nation and world. We cry out, Lord come. In Jesus name I pray, Amen!
