No matter what’s happened in the past before this moment, change… changes the future!

There was so much bad that happened prior to Josiah. Verse 1 tells us “Josiah was eight years old when he became king.” 8 years old! At 16 years old the Bible says, “he began to seek the God of his father David”. When he was 20 years old he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem of idol worship. Then at 26 years old he had the house of the Lord restored. We read about Josiah, “And Josiah took away all the abominations from all the territory that belonged to the people of Israel and made all who were present in Israel serve the Lord their God. All his days they did not turn away from following the Lord, the God of their fathers.” 2 Chronicles 34:33

Josiah could have spent his time blaming those before him or complaining of the state of the country at the time. He even could have thought, “What’s the use? Even if I do something it will just get worse in the future.” Instead, he didn’t allow what had happened to diminish what could happen.

Remember, God has you where you are and around the people you’re around for the sake of His kingdom. Your past, or the past, doesn’t have to affect today or tomorrow... so don’t let it! Get up today, remember that Jesus is our King, and let’s give people heaven on earth!
