How could you? Well, you know he or she did, don’t you? Don’t you think so and so needs to get it together?

Hezekiah is a man on a mission. You can sense his heart as he makes way to celebrate Passover. He sends letters far and wide to Israelites, not to stir up war, but to stir up worship! These are folks who had turned away from the Lord and worship Him. Hezekiah says, “…For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful and will not turn away his face from you, if you return to him.” 2 Chronicles 30:9

When it’s found out they didn’t properly prepare to eat Passover what does Hezekiah do? “…For Hezekiah had prayed for them, saying, “May the good Lord pardon everyone who sets his heart to seek God, the Lord, the God of his fathers, even though not according to the sanctuary’s rules of cleanness.” 2 Chronicles 30:18-19

I’m convinced these people were drawn closer to the Lord because Hezekiah offered them the Father’s love instead of judgment. He loved those that might not have deserved it. We can do the same. Instead of talking about people, talk to people… about the Father’s love. And show the His love! Besides as His redeemed people we love with the power of His love, “because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” Romans 5:5 Let’s talk about people less and talk to people more.

Let’s do more than like people but genuinely love them for the sake of the Lord, by His power and might!
