When success meets failure!

Uzziah became king at 16 years old and he reigned for 52 years in Jerusalem. 52 years is a long time, and many reforms were. We read, “And he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord… He set himself to seek God in the days of Zechariah, who instructed him in the fear of God, and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him prosper.” 2 Chronicles 26:4-5

Militarily, agriculturally, financially, and even spiritually Uzziah had much success. He even invented devices to protect the people during times of battle. “But when he was strong, he grew proud, to his destruction. For he was unfaithful to the Lord his God...” 2 Chronicles 26:16

Success doesn’t always have to lead to failure but in Uzziah’s case it did. Like Uzziah, when we’re successful we can forget where all our blessings flow from. Enjoy success in life but don’t forget to give glory to the Lord. Don’t forget the successes we enjoy are Him. Our successes should lead to a deeper worship of the Lord. If not, pride settles in, and we spiritually fail. So, as you succeed in life give God glory. Set your heart on Him in all life’s successes!
