Life is chaotic in this chapter. Jehoshaphat allies himself with Ahab even though he witnesses him rejecting the word of the Lord. Ahab is deceitful and manipulative in battle. Yet the Lord still delivers Jehoshaphat in spite of all of this. All of this happens along with a prophet speaking a word from the Lord over Ahab and in return he’s treated with affliction.

“So the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “There is still one man by whom we may inquire of the Lord; but I hate him, because he never prophesies good concerning me, but always evil. He is Micaiah the son of Imla.” And Jehoshaphat said, “Let not the king say such things!”” 2 Chronicles 18:7

Life… it’s messy! There are times we’re dealing with tough situations and circumstances. Maybe, we get challenged by Scripture, nudged by Holy Spirit, or offered biblical advice. What do we do when that goes against our will? When it gets uncomfortable to follow the Lord? Do we press into what the Lord wants or wrap ourselves up in our own desires?

Be encouraged! Honor the Lord first. Seek His kingdom. Watch as your life is transformed as you honor the Lord and His will.
