The Church… it must be said!

Paul shares these strong words with Timothy, “But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” 1 Timothy 5:8

He writes to provide for our own, especially those in our households. A few verses before this we read, “Do not sharply rebuke an older man, but rather appeal to him as a father, to the younger men as brothers, the older women as mothers, and the younger women as sisters, in all purity.” 1 Timothy 5:1-2

The relationships within the church are fathers, brothers, mothers, and sisters. Do you consider those you fellowship with week in and week out this close relationally? This is what the church is called too! The church is a spiritual family, not an organization to be tied to. The most beautiful expression of being part of the church is developing those relationships and taking care of one another.

Maybe, it’s a work in progress in all our hearts but we should pursue the things of Jesus. The Word of God says to care for our own, especially our household. How can we take better care of each other? Pray, ask the Lord, but let’s all turn our hearts toward Jesus and loving one another like Jesus loves us. When we do I believe more of the world will recognize the Gospel of Jesus Christ. (John 17:20-23)
