Thankfulness. I don’t know about you but I’m thankful!

The “Pastoral Epistles” include 1 & 2 Timothy and Titus. Much of what we understand about leadership in the church comes from these three letters. In this first chapter Paul writes from his personal experience of Jesus. He writes, “I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service,” 1 Timothy 1:12

He goes on to share about who he was before Jesus got ahold of his life. Even calling himself the chief of sinners. It was Paul’s recognition of where he came from that developed a deep thankfulness in the mercy of God.

How thankful are you for what Jesus has done for you? How thankful are you for the love the Father has lavished upon you? There’s great encouragement and strength found in our thankfulness. Paul understood this and he patterned his life after Christ because of it. Let’s live out a life of thankfulness so that “Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life.” 1 Timothy 1:16

Jesus has done much so let’s be thankful for such!
