Do you recognize something's wrong?

The ark hadn't made it back to Jerusalem. "From the day that the ark remained at Kiriath-jearim, the time was long, for it was twenty years; and all the house of Israel lamented after the Lord." 1 Sam 7:2

Remember, the ark represented the presence of God. For 20 years Israel didn't do anything to bring the ark back to Jerusalem. They had no desire for the presence of God. Something was wrong and now they realized it.

"Then Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, "If you return to the Lord with all your heart, remove the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among you and direct your hearts to the Lord and serve Him alone; and He will deliver you from the hand of the Philistines."" 1 Sam 7:3

We can deal with the same. Confusion at home? Lacking peace? Relational rifts? Could it be your relationship w/the Lord needs work? May the words of Samuel to turn to the Lord, remove anything you've made a god, and to serve the Lord minister to you.

Your relationship with the Lord is the most important relationship you have. All other relationships flow thru the Lord. Reflect, pray, & be encouraged. His arms are opened wide and ready to receive you right now.
