Oh, you need to defend God huh?

Israel used the presence of God for their own purposes which ended terribly. The Philistines captured the Ark of the Covenant. Israel couldn't defend the Lord. They even had a hard time even defending themselves.

Was the Lord able to defend Himself? "Then the Philistines took the ark of God and brought it to the house of Dagon and set it by Dagon. When the Ashdodites arose early the next morning, behold, Dagon had fallen on his face to the ground before the ark of the Lord. So they took Dagon and set him in his place again. But when they arose early the next morning, behold, Dagon had fallen on his face to the ground before the ark of the Lord. And the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off on the threshold; only the trunk of Dagon was left to him." 1 Sam 5:2-4

We often think the Lord needs defending, but those are our purposes, not His. God's more than capable of defending Himself. He's been doing it since the beginning of time. Jesus was less about defending Himself and more about the salvation of others. Fighting evil is best done with extending Christ's love. How well are you doing that? May our best defense be offense (loving like Jesus).
