There was no widespread revelation of the Lord in these days. Israel is doing their thing, but it's their thing. They go to battle against the Philistines and many die. So, "When the people came into the camp, the elders of Israel said, "Why has the Lord defeated us today before the Philistines? Let us take to ourselves from Shiloh the ark of the covenant of the Lord, that it may come among us and deliver us from the power of our enemies."" 1 Sam 4:3

Guess what happens? They lose again. Israel wanted to do their own thing and get the Lord involved when they needed Him. Even reading this today I pray for myself and each of us that we aren't just adding the Lord to our plans instead that we would be seeking Him first.

Are you adding the Lord to your plans? Or are you seeking the Lord first and walking in His plans? I'm not sure about you but I think it's a scary thing to be trying to lead the Lord instead of Him leading us.

Father, lead us. Teach us. Direct us. Show us if we've gone before You. Forgive us for that. And help us to resubmit our lives to You afresh. In Jesus name, Amen!
