Care Bears...
David had recently found out Saul was not above murdering priest for having to do anything with him. He knew Saul wanted him dead and was willing to do anything to make it happen. In the middle of running for his life "they told David, saying, "Behold, the Philistines are fighting against Keilah and are plundering the threshing floors."" 1 Sam 23:1
What does David do? He asks the Lord and responded in obedience. "So David and his men went to Keilah and fought with the Philistines; and he led away their livestock and struck them with a great slaughter. Thus David delivered the inhabitants of Keilah." 1 Sam 23:5
In the middle of David's suffering, persecution, and at the brink of death he still cared about others. He didn't make what he was going thru bigger than his purpose. He responded to the Lord regardless of his circumstances. Are you too busy to be obedient? You got too many problems to care for others? A good question for us to reflect on. There's nothing greater in importance than loving God and loving others. Care bears have nothing to do with this, but being obedient and loving is all so important!
