Attention: Controversial. Read it for yourself. (1 Peter 2)

Have you tasted the graciousness of the Lord? Then lay aside all malice, hypocrisy, envy, and slander. “if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.” 1 Peter 2:3

Peter writes this while the Romans were in charge. He writes to a people scattered abroad where many weren’t Jesus followers. He reminds them, “Beloved, I urge you as aliens and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts which wage war against the soul.” 1 Peter 2:11

He says to them, “Honor all people, love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king.” 1 Peter 2:17

He then says Jesus gave us an example of suffering for the Kingdom of God and for lost souls. Read it. It’s there. And it’s a reminder to us there’s more important things. Us living for Jesus and His righteousness is what’s most important.

So, as the election cycle starts to heat up. What are you going to talk about more, Jesus or the next president? Let me say it clearly, “This isn't your home!” Followers of Jesus have a new home so let’s follow Jesus like He says for us too. Much love to you… read, pray, ask the Lord to lead you to see souls saved.
