Paul, by God’s grace, established the church in Corinth. Someone had written to Paul out of concern for the church. Notice Paul says, “Now concerning the things about which you wrote…” (1 Corinthians 7:1). Some of these practical’s he’s writing about are in response to their questions.

Paul shared about marriage, sexuality, widows, virginity, and divorce. As he writes there are times he writes from “thus says the Lord” while other times he writes from his personal concession.

There’s much practical wisdom through this chapter dealing with circumstances we face today. At one point Paul says, “You were bought for a price; do not become slaves of people. Brothers and sisters, each one is to remain with God in that condition in which he was called.” 1 Corinthians 7:23-24

Whatever state you find yourself in today what if the answer isn’t in what’s next but in what’s now? Often, we can find ourselves wanting different circumstances for ourselves and miss out on what God’s doing in our moment. Instead of seeking the Lord where we are, we think the change of circumstance is what’s best. He’s speaking now… are you listening? Sometimes where we’re at is the exact spot He wants us so we’re willing to learn what He’s wanting to teach us.
