Throughout our day we’re given the opportunity of shine, will you take it today?

We read about the gatekeepers, “Among these were the divisions of the gatekeepers, among the chief men, having duties just like their brethren, to serve in the house of the Lord.” (1 Chronicles 26:12), and those in charge of the treasury, “… whom King David made officials… for every matter pertaining to God and the affairs of the king.” (1 Chronicles 26:32).

Everyone in Israel played their part, each had a job to do. Gatekeepers were responsible to move all the pieces of the tabernacle (Refer to Numbers 4 for their specific duties). They were also in charge of opening and closing the gate in the wall surrounding the tabernacle. They shined the glory of the Lord to those around them in a practical manner such as this.

We each have a part to play. One part of the body of Christ isn’t more valuable than the other. “But now indeed there are many members, yet one body. And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you”; nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” (I Corinthians 12:20-21).

Today, we are called to shine for the glory of God in whatever we do. Be an employee for the Father’s glory… be a spouse, a parent, a son, or daughter… whatever or wherever you find yourself in this life, LIVE IT for the glory of the Lord. “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.” Colossians 3:23-24

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
