I’m blessed, how about you?

The corresponding record of this account can be found in 2 Samuel 5-6. As the ark of the covenant was important to David with further study, we find out David had built his house before.

We read of them worshiping, David distributing a celebratory meal, and musical instruments being played with thankfulness and praising taking place. David pens a psalm of thankfulness which parallels Psalm 105:1-15. He then sets in place people and resources to minister before the ark of the covenant regularly according to the Law of the Lord. Notice what happened immediately after, “Then all the people departed, every man to his house; and David returned to bless his house.” I Chronicles 16:43

David returned to bless his home! He built his house prior to getting the ark of the covenant back but David’s priority was the presence of the Lord and for Him to be consistently worshipped by David and the Israelites. He understood blessing his house came from first being blessed by the Lord. His priority was the presence of the Lord and the worship of the Lord. He knew as He sought the Lord first his home would be blessed.

The same with us today. As we are aware of the Father’s presence in our lives and we make worshipping him a priority our homes will be blessed. And remember, to be blessed is more than just physical blessings. We can’t work for greater blessings. The blessing of the Lord is spiritual, mental, and physical… it’s supernatural and beyond what we can ask or think. So put His presence first and make worship a priority. Blessings flow from our Father above. “Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; And let them say among the nations, “The Lord reigns.”… Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.” I Chronicles 16:31, 34
