David is credited with writing Psalms 22, 23, and 24, each potentially composed during different seasons of his life, yet all prophetic in nature, pointing to the Messiah. Did David fully understand the significance of his words in the moment? Only God knows. Yet, with remarkable precision, these psalms detail the crucifixion of Jesus and proclaim the coming of King Jesus in glory.

On the cross, Jesus cries out, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?" (Psalm 22:1). In a moment of desperation, David glimpsed the anguish Jesus would endure, bearing the weight of humanity's sin and shame. In Psalm 22, David pours out his heart in distress. In Psalm 23, he writes of the peace offered by the Shepherd, even in the valley of the shadow of death. Then, in Psalm 24, he exalts the King of Glory.

David experienced varied seasons-times of desperation and darkness, as well as moments of joy and peace. Yet, through faith in the Lord, all these seasons glorified God. How can you glorify God in your season today? As His children, our lives reflect His glory. Whether in the dark of night or the light of day, may the expression of our hearts honor the Lord in all we do.
