You fighting battles today? How long you going to fight in your own strength?

“The horse is prepared for the day of battle, But deliverance is of the Lord.” Proverbs 21:31

This proverb speaks of the horse being prepared for battle. Horses are majestic, strong, and swift. To have horses in the day of battle was securing favorable victory. Deuteronomy evens speaks about not multiplying horses for strength, “But he shall not multiply horses for himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt to multiply horses, for the Lord has said to you, ‘You shall not return that way again. (Deuteronomy 17:16)

Ultimately, deliverance is of the Lord. Gideon with his 300, Abraham with his family in a foreign land, the children of Israel walking out with Egypt’s possessions after being in captivity for hundreds of years, the small land becoming the nation of Israel once again in 1948, the church starting with 12 rogue men who were Jesus’ disciples, the church growing from the least of these, and on and on. Yet we can still fall prey to relying on our strength, wisdom, and stature.

Multiple your horses, prepare in yourself for battle but remember this my friend… deliverance is from the Lord. Jesus overcame the power of death and He delivered to the believer the Holy Spirit. Let’s multiple our prayers and dependency upon Him instead!
