The Lord is the same yesterday, today, and forever more. He is unchanging and unfailing. So, when we read about His character in the Old Testament we should know the Lord is constant. As Mosses encourages Israel to walk with and be obedient to the Lord he writes,

DO YOU BELIEVE? “When the Lord your God brings you into the land that you are entering to take possession of it… and when the Lord your God gives them over to you…” Deuteronomy 7:1-2 partial

DO YOU KNOW? “Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations,” Deuteronomy 7:9

DO YOU REMEMBER? “you shall not be afraid of them but you shall remember what the Lord your God did to Pharaoh and to all Egypt,” Deuteronomy 7:18

He encourages them to remember what the Lord has done in their midst, to stand in what they know about the Lord, and to believe in what He will do with and for them. The same can be encouraged for us today. So, ask yourself these questions: Do you remember all the Lord has done? If so, praise Him for it. Do you know His character? If so, rest in His goodness. Do you believe the Lord has worked, is working, and is continuing to work in your life? If so, trust and obey Him today, tomorrow, and forever.
