Job speaks from a place of raw honesty. His heart is heavy with the loss of his family and possessions. Perhaps you've been in a similar place, questioning your very existence.
In Job 3:24-25, he laments, "For my sighing comes before I eat, and my groanings pour out like water. For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, and what I dreaded has happened to me."
This is real. Job's deep distress spills onto the pages of Scripture. He questions why he was even born, having reached his lowest point. In the chapters that follow, we see him wrestle in prayer with the Lord. It's not an easy conversation, but it ultimately blesses both him and us today.
We, too, must learn to turn to the Lord in our despair. We may be tempted to turn to other things or people, but the Bible reminds us, "Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you" (1 Peter 5:6-7).
Difficult days don't mean God has stopped caring-He cares deeply. The choice is ours to cast our burdens on Him. Will you do so today? What relief we find when we do!
