Dealing with the reality of war and battles Moses lays out how Israel should handle battles, which Israelites fight battles, and how to handle the spoils of their battles.

Today, as the church our we too fight battles, but they are usually quite different. Our call is to expand the kingdom of God. It’s a spiritual battle we fight, not physical. Prompted by the Holy Spirit Paul records, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12

Whereas the battle was physical in Deuteronomy it’s most definitely spiritual for the Church. But the same truth spoken here by Moses is true for us today, “When you go out to battle against your enemies and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the Lord your God is with you, who brought you up from the land of Egypt.” Deuteronomy 20:1

DO NOT BE AFRAID…FOR THE LORD YOUR GOD IS WITH YOU! Every demon in hell is waging battles against the Father and His Children, but rest assured He is very much with us! And He is very much for us! “For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways.” (Psalms 91:11). “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” (I John 4:4). “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
