Moses is continuing in commanding the civil law for Israel. The canceling of debt, helping the poor, lending, treatment of servants, and the first fruits of livestock.
What’s most important to remember though, “…From what the Lord your God has blessed you with, you shall give to him. You shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God redeemed you; therefore, I command you this thing today.” Deuteronomy 15:14-15
No matter what we have it’s been given by the Lord. From the breath to our lungs, place of work, family, finances, and possessions… these are blessings from the Lord. So, when you have it within your power to give, the availability of finances, or time to share live generously. RADICALLY GENEROUS!
All things instituted by the Lord were for more than the laws sake. They were how to relate to the Lord and others. Jesus reiterated these things in a relational way as He walked the earth… and He also lived them out. Now it’s our turn.
