Don’t play, most of us have Facebook stalked someone, some time or another. Trying to find out more about the person through pics and posts.

Paul is ministering at Rome. He calls the leaders of the Jews together to discuss the truth of Jesus with them. It says Paul literally, “explained and solemnly testified of the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus from both the Law of Moses and the Prophets, from morning till evening.” Acts 28:23b

Their response? “And some were persuaded by the things which were spoken, and some disbelieved.” Acts 28:24

Paul goes on to quote Isaiah 6:9-10, explaining it had been prophesied hearts, ears and eyes would grow dull to the kingdom. Yet Acts concludes Paul continues to preach the kingdom of God with confidence.

You and I both know Facebook stalking doesn’t help us to actually get to know the person. There is no relationship, just nosiness on our part. It’s just a dull look into a person’s life. Question: "Is this how we look at the person of Jesus Christ? Hearing impersonally about moments in His life, things He did.

The Person of Christ should be more than a distant view but a personal encounter with Him. Stalking Jesus isn’t life changing but having a committed relationship with Him is. (Hint: not just asking Him for your needs and wants.) A solid relationship is one where both sides talk, respond, and interact with each other. Chances are if you haven’t been inconvenienced or done things contrary to your own will your relationship with Jesus may only be one sided. That’s not to hurt or offend you but encourage you in a meaningful relationship with Christ. If you have any questions about this, please let me know.
