The debate is drawing to a close. A new voice will soon join the conversation, but this marks the final appearance of Job's three friends.
Bildad speaks some truths about God but fails to capture the Lord's heart in his response: "How then can man be righteous before God? Or how can he be pure who is born of a woman? If even the moon does not shine, And the stars are not pure in His sight, How much less man, who is a maggot, And a son of man, who is a worm?" Job 25:4-6
Warren Weirsbe wrote, "Too often, those who say the most about God know the least about God."
This rings true. In defending the Lord, His Word, and His ways, we can speak truth yet misrepresent His heart. The value of something is revealed by what someone is willing to pay for it. The Father gave His Son, and Jesus willingly laid down His life to redeem what we so freely lost. Though we are born sinners, God's grace and mercy transform us into His saints, His children.
Be cautious not to argue your point so fiercely that you misrepresent the Father's heart. Job's friends were so hellbent to prove themselves right that they missed heavenly truth. Let's not make the same mistake.
