In 1 Cor 13:12, Paul writes, "For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known." Paul understood that, even with the revelation of Christ, the fullness of knowledge will come when we stand before Jesus.
Eliphaz, in his rebuttal to Job, lacked the understanding we now have through Christ. He said, "What is man, that he could be pure? And he who is born of a woman, that he could be righteous? If God puts no trust in His saints, And the heavens are not pure in His sight," Job 15:14-15
We've all sinned and fallen short of God's glory. But through Christ and the power of His resurrection, we are justified and part of the fellowship of saints. After His resurrection, the term "saint" appears over 60x in the NT, referring to the church-even when addressing sin.
Job knew he was righteous before God, despite his friends' accusations. On this side of the cross, by faith, we are transformed by the power of Christ flowing through us. We have been transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light, made new in Jesus. Let's embrace the freeing truth of our identity in Christ and let it empower us to share Jesus with others.
