Who's on your fight card?

Isaiah continues proclaiming the word of the Lord to Judah. His message remains the same: Don't trust in the strength of Egypt, trust in the Lord.

He writes: "For thus the Lord has spoken to me: "As a lion roars, And a young lion over his prey (When a multitude of shepherds is summoned against him, He will not be afraid of their voice Nor be disturbed by their noise), So the Lord of hosts will come down To fight for Mount Zion and for its hill." Isaiah 31:4

The Lord is essentially saying, "I'll fight for you." Yet Judah found it easier to depend on Egypt than to depend on God.

Are we any different?

When battles come, whether big or small, where do we turn first? Do we trust the Lord to fight for us, or do we immediately look to our own strength, other people, or worldly solutions?

The world tells us, "Do something. Take control. Fight harder." But the Lord often says, "Be still. Trust Me first."

True victory doesn't come from human strength. It belongs to the Lord.

So, where will you go the next time you face a battle? Who will you depend on?

Maybe you're in the middle of a trial right now. Go to the Lord. Stop putting yourself on the fight card. Instead, learn to lean on Him, abide in Him, and trust Him to fight the battles that only He can win.
