It is what it is?!

Isaiah had proclaimed many messages on behalf of the Lord, but now he writes about the earth itself:

"The earth mourns and fades away, The world languishes and fades away; The haughty people of the earth languish. The earth is also defiled under its inhabitants, Because they have transgressed the laws, Changed the ordinance, Broken the everlasting covenant." Isaiah 24:4-5

We have all experienced injustice in one way or another, some more deeply than others. But injustice is still injustice. Isaiah describes the coming judgment on a world and a system corrupted by sin. Yet he does not leave us with destruction alone. The chapter ends with hope: "For the Lord of hosts will reign On Mount Zion and in Jerusalem And before His elders, gloriously." Isaiah 24:23

Hebrews 12 also points us to a better hope, the promise of a kingdom that cannot be shaken. And Revelation 21:1-5 gives us a glimpse of the final restoration:

"Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." And He said to me, "Write, for these words are true and faithful.""

Be encouraged. Live with the expectation of Christ's coming reign. A day is coming when every tear will be wiped away, every wrong will be made right, and all things will be made new.
