The rise and fall of moments and circumstances isn't where our hearts were meant to rest...

In Ecclesiastes we're invited to remain in the joy of the Lord. As Solomon continues his honest journal, he points us to something profoundly true: "As for every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, and given him power to eat of it, to receive his heritage and rejoice in his labor-this is the gift of God. For he will not dwell unduly on the days of his life, because God keeps him busy with the joy of his heart." Ecclesiastes 5:19-20

Where are you looking for joy today?

If we anchor our joy in things that constantly shift (money, success, relationships, achievements, or even our own expectations) then our peace will rise and fall like the tide. Solomon knew this struggle intimately. In his season of searching, he lived with a temporal mindset, chasing what could never satisfy. And if we're honest, we often do the same.

But there's so much more for us. So much more.

The joy God offers isn't fragile or fleeting; it's rooted in who He is, not in what happens to us. When we abide in Christ, we discover a gladness that circumstances can't steal.

Father, help us to find our joy in You. Help us to see where we may be misplacing our joy in circumstances and others. Give us a heart to follow You, and as we abide in You, see the fullness of our joy in Christ. Amen.
